roof is on, windows in, and even a bathtub

this week the roof was put on as well as windows, exterior insulation and siding. not a whole lot had changed on the inside.....however, i had requested some blocking to be installed above the fireplace so i can safely mount a plasma screen. in one of the pictures below you can see the extra blocking. the water heater has also been installed and is located in the attic behind the gameroom. in the upstairs bath, the bathtub has been delivered. water lines have also been installled throughout the house where there are sinks. i believe electrical components will be installed this week....

framing is up

01.21.06 - the majority of the framing is now up. nice surprise to see so much progress over the last week. i think windows, siding, and insulation are going to be done next. this week we now have a driveway that has been poured. a few pics below......

slab has been poured

01.14.06 - the slab has been poured and the framers have started to chalk the slab in order to know where the walls and doors will be when they start framing. the contractor told us that the framing would start early in the week and alot would be done on our next visit.

breaking ground

12.31.05 - doesn't look like alot, but breaking ground is a good feeling. on our first visit, the frame for the slab was put together and everything was being prepared for the pour. we snapped a couple of pics and walked around a little.

01.07.06 - the following week we came back expecting the slab to have been poured, but that was not the case. the addition of the cables and moisture barrier were added since our first visit.

below are the pics form our first two visits.....

here's the scoop....

i figured this would be the easiest way to keep anyone who was interested in the progress of house up to date. we try to visit the house atleast once a week and take a few pics of the progress that has been done. construction was started late december 2005 and construction is expected to be complete mid to late april 2006. it is located in the subdivision of lakemont, which is in richmond. not sure why it is considered richmond since we are across the street from katy. a rough location in the westpark tollroad and mason road.

the house is by village builders and below is a link to the floorplan we have selected. our lot is on a small cul-de-sac in the neighborhood. so far we are the only lot under construction on the street. we chose a handful of upgrades for our new house...black granite counter tops in the kitchen along with maple cabinets, berber carpet throughout, crown molding, upgraded tile in the kitchen, entry, and breakfast areas, and a few other things.....

i'll be posting up some pictures as i take them and get time to upload them.

here is the elevation and plan.....
